The Spanish customer Urumea Mecanizados, a company that operates in the production and mechanization of machinery and single parts, was looking for a high-performance slotting machine capable of making keys for various types of parts, particularly large ones.
Solution
Cabe has developed for Urumea a machine with 5 controlled axes and a distance of 900mm between table and head. The machine is able to make keys with the dimensions requested in the time specified by the customer. The software, developed ad hoc for the machine, allows the distance between table and underhead to be varied quickly and effortlessly, allowing rapid processing changes.
Result
Thanks to the size of the machine, the ST5 900L is able to make very large keys. The automatic adjustment of the distance between the table and the underhead, thanks to the fifth Fanuc controlled axis, allows a considerable reduction in costs and time. Thanks to the great processing capacity and versatility, the machine has fully solved the customer’s production needs.
